Bergamot - Citrus bergamia

Boosts immune system, balances nervous system, eases tension, anxiety, grief and depression. Is an analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, and antispasmodic, to name a few. Good for cold sores, insect bites, mouth infections, colds, flu and fever. Blends well with lavender, neroli, jasmine, cypress, geranium, sandalwood, ylang ylang, clary sage, cedarwood and citurs oils.

Cedarwood - Juniperus virginiana - USA
Cedarwood is a natural anti-depressant and a sedative. These calming properties make it good for nervous tension, stress and anxiety. It is good for easing colds, flu and bronchitis. Use the essential oil in a diffuser or a steam inhalation bath. This oil can be used for arthritis and rheumatism. Simply add a few drops to the bath or massage the oil directly to affected area.

Properties include: anti-fungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, astringent, diuretic, sedative, mild aphrodisiac and insect repellant.

Chamomile - Anthemia nobilis
Gentle and soothing. Lowers blood pressure, eases stress, depression or irritability. Aids digestion and promotes restful sleep. Helpful for sensitive skin, acne, hair care, teething pains and wounds. Actions include analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic,bactericidal and tonic, among others.

Citronella - Cymbopogon nardus

The fresh lemony scent of Citronella is known for its insect repellent properties. It is also good for colds, flu and minor infections. Soothes headaches, migraines and neuralgia. Eases fatigue. Use for excessive perspiration and oily skin.

Clary Sage - Salvia sclarea
Creates euphoria and can bring long lasting inner tranquility. Clary's main effects are psychological. It generates energy and inspires both mind and spirit. A great bath or massage oil used for menstrual cramps and PMS. Especially useful for throat and respiratory infections. Clary Sage should NEVER be used by those with Epilepsy. Antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, among others. Blends well with almost any oil.

Clove Bud - Eugenia caryophylatta
Useful for acne, athlete's foot, bruises, burns, cuts, toothaches, ulcers, arthritis, rheumatism, asthma, bronchitis and nausea. Actions include antibiotic, antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-viral and aphrodisiac. Blends well with rose, lavender, clary sage, bergamot, allspice, ginger, rose geranium and ylang ylang. Can cause skin and mucous membrane irritation.

Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus globulus
A cooling agent that stimulates concentration. Excellent for fevers, sinus, bronchitis and asthma problems. Aids the whole breathing process and can help regenerate lung tissue. Properties include analgesic, antirheumatic, antiseptic, decongestant, anti- viral and stimulant. Blends well with thyme, lavender, rosemary, pine, marjoram, cedarwood and lemon.

Geranium - Pelargonium graveolens
Aids poor circulation, sore throat, eczema, cuts, oily complexion, PMS, menopausal symptoms, nervous tension and stress related conditions. Actions include antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, diuretic and fungicidal, among others. Blends well with lavender, patchouli, clove, rose, and sandalwood.

Lavender - Lavandula angustifolum - USA
To relieve headaches, rub on directly where it hurts.
Known as the most versatile herb and essential oil. Very gentle, can be used directly on the skin. Excellent for cuts, burns, bruises, muscular aches, sprains, asthma, bronchitis, halitosis, laryngitis, PMS, headache, migraine, insomnia, stress and nervous tension. Stimulates the immune system and prevents scarring. Properties include antibiotic, analgesic, antiseptic, antidepressant, sedative and detoxifier, among others. Blends well with most essential oils, especially citrus and florals.

Lemon - Citrus limonum
Stimulating to the mind. Increases concentration and the ability to memorize. High antibacterial properties. Perfect for destroying airborne germs in waiting rooms, hospital rooms, schools, bath- rooms, etc. Particularly effective when used in a diffuser. Stimulates red blood cell formation, stimulates immune system, activates white blood cell formation. Excellent for colds, flu, throat infections, bronchitis, asthma, insect bites and more. Blends well with lavender, rose, cedar, eucalyptus, ylang ylang and more.

Lime - Citrus aurantifolia
Shares most qualities with lemon.
Blends well with ylang ylang, clove bud, lavender, rosemary and other citrus oils.

Palmarosa - Cymbopogon martinii
Is uplifting and balancing to the emotions. Palmarosa also moisturizes the skin and helps stimulate cell regeneration. It is mild, non toxic and safe for all skin types. Use for acne, winkles, boils, dermatitis and other minor skin infections. Great for sore feet and athlete's feet too. Its properties include: antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, cicatrizant, hydrating, stimulant (digestive, circulatory), tonic.
Blends well with Cedarwood, Geranium, Oakmoss, Lavender, Lemongrass, Rose, Rosewood, Sandalwood and floral oils.

Peppermint - Mentha piperita - USA
To relieve headaches, rub on directly where it hurts.
Clears and stimulates the mind, aids concentration, calms nerves. Excellent for motion sickness, headaches and nausea. Has anti-septic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory properties, among others. Aids acne, toothache, colds, flu, mental fatigue & nervous tension. Blends well with rosemary, lavender, lemon, eucalyptus and mints.

Rosemary - Rosemarinus officinalis
Camphor like fragrance is strong and clear. Aids concentration, improves mental clarity and strengthens the nervous system. Helps lower high blood sugar. Warms and relieves colds and bronchial and asthmatic spasms. Great for cold feet, tired or weak legs, circulatory problems, sore muscles, rheumatic and arthritis pain. Actions include antiseptic, anti-rheumatic, fungicidal, among others. Blends well with mint, bergamot, basil, lemon, juniper, tea tree, lavender, peppermint and cedarwood. Do not use during pregnancy or with epilepsy.

Spearmint - Mentha spicata - USA
Same qualities as peppermint, however, not quite as strong. Blends well with lavender, jasmine, rosemary and eucalyptus.

Sweet Orange - Citrus sinensis
Beneficial and soothing to dry, irritated skin. Helps dull and oily complexions and mouth ulcers. Properties include anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal and others. Good for bronchitis, colds, flu, fever, nervous tension and stress. Blends well with lavender, lemon, ginger, juniper, patchouli, sandalwood, ylang ylang, myrrh and spice oils such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.

Tea Tree - Melaleuca alternifolia
Tea Tree is great for relieving the itch from insect bites.
Active against all three varieties of infectious organisms: bacteria, fungi and viruses. Very powerful immuno-stimulant. Helps acne, abscess, athlete's foot, blisters, burns, herpes, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, tuberculosis, colds, flu and fever. Actions include anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, anti-viral, and others. Blends well with lavender, clary sage, rosemary, geranium and others.

Ylang Ylang - Cananga odorata
Very sweet, sensual and exotic. A relaxing aphrodisiac that soothes anxiety, depression, frustration and anger. Stimulates hair growth, balances oily skin. Actions include aphrodisiac, antidepressant, antiseptic, euphoric, sedative (nervous) and stimulant (circulatory). Blends well with rosewood, jasmine, bergamot, rose and others.
